Description: The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past…but Dmitri’s need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.
Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel’s right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality…the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.
As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting…and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more…
Review: Thus far, my favorite book in the series! Apparently, what I needed to read is a story with a cold anti-hero, a ravaged woman that reclaims herself, a loving promise that spans over a thousand years, and laying claim to love despite living horrors & inner demons.
In a world where Angels rule and vampires are real, a new era of possibilities is coming to life. A mortal turned Angel from the power of true love, an ancient city and it’s guardian awakening after a countless slumber, and voracious dreams of power turning dangerous enemies into deadly foes.
Dmitri is the Archangel Raphael’s second in command and a seductive vampire of cold passion. He’s in charge of keeping Raphael’s territories safe while his leader is absent. A savage crime scene has been committed and the only clue is a tattoo inked on the victim’s head. Guild Hunter Honor is ordered to help in the investigation. A research assignment to help her get back into the field as a Hunter. It’s only been six months since she has been rescued from horrific imprisonment and only the physical wounds have healed into scars. Dmitri’s cold commands & ruthless seduction inflames Honor’s desire & stubborn pride. Regardless of logic, neither can deny the passion that engulfs them or make sense of the instinct that whispers the other is safe.
A love story with loss, blood, despair, an eternal promise, homecoming and ravishing passion.
