What an odd story. This is definitely one of those stories I read because I was wondering what would come up next.

Edie is a night shift nurse at County Hospital. You would think that’s pretty normal. Except no one really knows about the ward she works in. It’s called Y4 and you can only get there if you have a special badge. There’s also a higher percentage for being hired for it if you have a drug addict brother, like Edie. Y4’s patients are different. You could even say extraordinary. They’re all the supernatural creatures and things that you don’t believe in because vampires, werewolves, ghosts and dragons aren’t real. Duh! Except they are.

The book is like a mash up of short stories & odd ideas that are thrown together and loosely make sense. Sort of. I’m a fan of the possessed cd player that talks in German but Edie doesn’t speak German… I could look pass several holes in plot but I didn’t care for the big ones that popped up during the most important snaz of the story. Definitely on the fence about the Haitian boyfriend that leaves town. Uhm. Dead flesh. Eek.

All in all, this book has been a refreshing read and my curiosity made me read it till the very end. Onwards to Moonshifted!
